OUTREACH FOR MEDICAID, BADGERCARE, AND THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (ACA) MARKETPLACE

Covering Wisconsin (CWI) has spent many years reaching out to health providers, school districts, community organizations, and communities to develop strategies, resources, and materials to best help individuals and families access health coverage, whether it is through the state’s Medicaid program, BadgerCare Plus, or private health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace on healthcare.gov. Through the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), CWI has had the opportunity to work with many partners to host ACA trainings, organize enrollment events, and coordinate outreach activities to identify people who may be uninsured. Our partnerships with organizations in Racine, Kenosha, and Milwaukee Counties, school districts across the state, and UW-Extension educators have given us the opportunity to train and work with hundreds of community partners to help consumers statewide access health insurance that will ideally lead to health care.
